Randall Hatfield

Randall was born on May 10, 1935, in Metalton, Ark., a son of Parker Riley Hatfield and Euma Jane Stanphill Hatfield. He married Trecia Ann Van Sleeuwen on Feb 7, 1981, in Long Beach, Calif. Randall worked as a floor covering installer and was a professional musician. He played guitar, bass, pedal steel and sang. The Academy of Country Artist noted him as one the top five bassist in the country. He played with several bands, including Danny Michaels and the Rebel Playboys and his own band, Randall Hatfield and the Real McCoys. Randall enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, tinkering with small engines, shooting and spending time with his pup, Kato. Randall was a member of the Southern Baptist denomination. He is survived by his wife, Trecia Hatfield of the home; one daughter, Bridget Martin of Springdale; two sons, Darrin and wife Debbie Hatfield of Berryville, Ark., and Scott and wife Estela Van Sleeuwen of Whittier, Calif.; one sister, Sharon Lytle of Branson, Mo.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristine and Barry Usry of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren, Sydney Martin, Demi Martin, Danny Hatfield, Erik Van Sleeuwen and Kris and husband Brian Jones; four great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. A visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Tuesday, Oct 14, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Nelson's Funeral Home in Berryville on Wednesday, Oct 15, 2014, at 2 p.m., with burial being conducted at Moore's Cemetery.
