Jim Wray Haney passed away peacefully at Highland Healthcare nursing care resident in Bella Vista, Ark. He had been in their care since June 1, 2014, after suffering complications from a stroke. He is survived by a son, Davd Haney of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Karen Zachary and son-in-law, Bruce Zachary of Camarillo, Calif.; and two grandsons, Jonathan and Joshua Zachary. Jim lived in Bella Vista since 1997, working in real estate sales at Wylie/Lindsey Realty in Bella Vista. He came to Arkansas from San Diego, Calif., where he worked for Tarbell Realtors as manager of their Encinitas office. Before his successful career in real estate, he was a well-known insurance salesman with TOP Inc., a company serving credit unions in San Diego. He was especially proud of his Army experience in Japan from 1951-1953. From 1954-1971 he worked at General Dynamics in Pomona, Calif., where he was division manager of Employee Motivation and president of the Management Club. He was devoted to his family roots in Kearney, Neb., and made many trips back to his high school reunions. Jim's many interests include golf, fishing, classic cars, watching classic movies and playing video games. He loved cartoons and Pixar movies. He loved to take road trips. He was an accomplished woodworker and made beautiful furniture. He was an avid magazine and newspaper reader. He loved to cook on his barbecue. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his jokes and his love of a good party with good friends. He will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif.
