Robert (Bob) Hofer

Robert (Bob) James Hofer, 77, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Nov. 26, 2014, at 10:47 p.m. at home. He was born Sept. 15, 1937, in Aledo, Ill., to Lester James Hofer and LaJune Longley Hofer. He was a member of the Lions Clubs International, American Chemical Society, Knights of Columbus, American Diabetes Association, Sigma XI and National Railroad Historical Society. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Rose Ann Lee Hofer; three sons, James L. Hofer and wife, Lisa of Shawnee, Kan., John R. Hofer of Tahoe City, Calif., Thomas W. Hofer and wife Laura of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two daughters, Cassandra A. Hofer Christophersen and husband Charles of Springdale, Ark., Lisa M. Hofer Furst and husband, John of Salina, Kan.; 11 grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Bella Vista at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. A Committal service will follow at the Columbarium at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
