William Albert (Bill) Cowan, Jr. of Rogers, Ark., (formerly of Springdale) passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Northwest Regional Hospital in Bentonville. He was born on Dec. 27, 1930, in Fallsville, Ark., son of William Albert and Stella Cowan, who preceded him in death along with his four sisters, Lee Bowlan, Oleta Black, Ilene Trotter and Ava Pemberton. He was an avid golfer. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and a platinum member of Lost Springs Golf Course, both in Rogers. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a retired sales representative for Jones Truck Line in Springdale. He is survived by three children, Preston Cowan and wife Missy of Little Rock, Pamela Cowan of Ankeny, Iowa, and Paula Ponder of Springdale; two grandchildren, Carly Cowan of Houston, Texas, and Michael Ponder of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday Nov. 30, 2014, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home at 2230 N. Thompson St, Springdale, AR. Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at First United Methodist Church at 307 W. Elm, Rogers, AR.
