Francis Frank Piha

Francis Frank Piha, age 89, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, in a Springdale hospital. Mr. Piha was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Le Center, Minn., to Frank and Rosemary Genter Piha, who preceded him in death, as well as his first wife, Marjorie; and a son, Francis Frank Piha Jr.; two grandchildren, Terry Richard Driskill Jr. and William Piha; and a sister, Lucille Northcutt. He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran who flew 40 missions over Berlin in a B-17 Bomber. After the service, he owned and operated a dairy farm in Oranogo, Mo., and later he and his wife operated Maude Ethel Restaurant in Bentonville. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Russell Piha of Bentonville; two sons, Monte Piha and his wife, Gail, of Farmington, Aaron Piha and his wife, Shelli, of Bentonville; two daughters, Sue Walker and her husband, Jim, of Rogers, and Janet Saint John and her husband, Don, of Alaska; one brother, Leonard Piha; two sisters, Magdaline Simpson and Cecilia Heppes; eight grandchildren, Joesef Walker, Jared Driskill, Joel Driskell, Sarah Stewart, Lauren Clevenger, Ethan Piha, Kali Piha and Stephen Piha; and one great-grandchild, Nicolaus Walker. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 21, with service at 3 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, Ark.
