Floyd John Williams

Floyd John Williams, age 80, of Springdale passed away on Nov. 9, 2014, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Ozone, Ark., the son of Irvin and Myrtle Warren Williams. He had served in the United States Army, spending time in Maryland and Alaska. He worked as a shop foreman for TSA in the Dallas, Texas, area and retired after 30 years of service. He returned to the Springdale area in 1998. He enjoyed metal detecting, the outdoors and picnicking on "Piney" and he loved animals. He was a proud born again Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Dollie Williams. He was survived by four stepchildren, whom he raised; one brother, Lonnie A. Williams of Springdale; one sister, Jane Alderson of Springdale; 12 stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, with the Rev. Johnny Case officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Piney Grove Cemetery, near Salus, Ark., under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
