Bobbie Jean Johns

Bobbie Jean Johns of Rogers, 73, passed away Nov. 8, 2014, at her home. She was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Omaha, Ark., to the late Bennie G. and Virginia B. (Davis) Curtis. She was a loving wife to Ronald G. Johns for 54 years. Bobbie was an employee of Benton County for 26 years, where she started as a sheriff's jailor, then spent the majority of her career as the county purchasing agent. Upon her retirement in 2003, the county began recognizing Bobbie Johns Day in thanks for her hard work. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Ronald Johns of Rogers; her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Margie Johns of Rogers; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Steve Davis of Seligman, Mo., Fran and David Melvin of Rogers, and Jenna Johns-Cannady of Rogers; her brothers, Richard Curtis of Elm Springs, Ark., Billy Curtis of Centerton, Ark., Jimmy Curtis of Gravette, Ark.; her sisters, Sue Johnson of Green Forest, Ark., Roberta Pinkley of Blue Eye, Mo., Peggy Roper of Bella Vista, Ark.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Winifred Jenkins, Alice Graham and Patty Conrad. Bobbie loved the outdoors, playing with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was like a mother to all who knew her. She always looked on the bright side and saw the best in everyone. She was a member of East Side Assembly of God in Bentonville. She was loved by all, and she will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at East Side Assembly of God in Bentonville, Ark. Please share your stories and condolences at www.rollinsfuneral.com.
