Kathleen Evonne Stephens, 77, wife of Robert Stephens of Bella Vista, passed away on Nov. 2, 2014, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born to Ottie and Ray Loghry on March 3, 1937, in Taylor County, Iowa. Kathleen was the fifth of six children, and is survived by her brothers, Harry and Robert Loghry, their spouses and families. Kathleen and Robert have three daughters, Sheryl Youngblood and husband, Steve, of Hannibal, Mo., along with their children, Rebekah, Steven, Rachel, and great-grandson, Jayden, Sondra Sue Stephens and husband, John Settlage, of Willimantic, Conn., and Mary Kerby and husband, Chuck, of Bella Vista, Ark., and their children, Adam Kerby, Jenna and Bryan Buettemeyer, and great-grandsons, Hudson and Rhett. Kathy and Bob were married on Dec. 29, 1956. They shared nearly 58 years of married life that began in Iowa, brought them through California, Massachusetts and then to Kirksville, Mo., where they raised their family. They retired to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1996. Bob and Kathleen have been members of Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. She was a member of the Martha Garvin Circle where she helped assemble shoeboxes and gather sweaters for the Salvation Army. Kathy loved flowers and maintained a beautiful garden at her home. She could often be found making cookies and other sweet morsels to share with her friends and family. Upon her request, her body was donated to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark. Memorials may be made to Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, 1720 Ferncliff Road, Little Rock, AR 72223. No services are planned at this time.
