Lauris 'Larry' Burch

Lauris "Larry" Burch died Nov. 3, 2014, in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born Sept. 26, 1927, to Lauris Case and Helen (Briggs) Burch in Easton, N.Y. Upon graduating from Greenwich High School in 1945, he enlisted in the Army. He married Catherine McDonald in June 1951. He began his 35-year career with the Norton Company in 1952. During that time, he established residence in New York, Wisconsin, Illinois and finally Omaha, Neb., attaining the position of Midwest sales director. He retired to Bella Vista in 1987 where he continued his passion for fishing and golf. In his spare time, he assembled golf clubs for fellow golfers. Larry was an avid sportsman, enjoying many hunting trips and spectator sports. It can be said "He enjoyed life." He married Sherry Moller in 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine; son, Stuart; and sisters, Nancy and Janet. He is survived by his wife, Sherry of Bella Vista; daughters, Christine Burch of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Laura Burch of Olathe, Kan.; grandson, Michael Slania; and granddaughter, Heather Slania. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, New York, NY 10004; or to a charity of donor's choice.
