Shirley A. Haufe

Shirley A. Haufe, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2014, in Bentonville, Ark., surrounded by her children. She led a life filled with family, friends, work, travel, golf and a continuous love of art. Shirley was born on Aug. 6, 1926, in Elmhurst, Ill., to James and Elsie Sanborn. After raising a family and working in McHenry, Ill., she and her husband, Henry Haufe, retired to Bella Vista. She enjoyed golf, gardening, travel, drawing and painting, playing crazy canasta and her beloved cat, Daffy. Shirley was involved in many organizations in Bella Vista. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista. Shirley was preceded by her husband of 47 years, Henry Haufe, and second husband, Donald Henderer. She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Edwards of Walworth, Wis., a son Jim Haufe of Richmond, Calif., and a sister, Jeanette Adams of Deltona, Fla. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Dr., Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Should friends and family desire, memorials may be made to the charity of their choice.
