James Wesley Rhyne

James Wesley Rhyne 82, of Winslow, died Nov. 1, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born March 22, 1932, in Bowie, Texas, to John William and Mary Agnes McClendon Rhyne. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed truck driver, farmer and worked several years as janitor at the post office. He was preceded in death by a daughter Angela Rena Rhyne, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Houston Rhyne of the home. Two sons, Rodger Dale Rhyne and wife Daisy of Huffman, Texas, and Wesley Kent Rhyne of Winslow; daughter, Kendra Kelley and husband John of Dixon, Mo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Teddy Bear. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Winslow with Rev. Gregg Dold officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beard's Funeral Chapel.
