Dennis Ray Hill, 63, of Ozark, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2014. He was an engineer for Jack Burge Construction in Fayetteville for several years and retired from Arkansas Tech University where he was Director of the Physical Plant. He was born August 12, 1950 in Altus, Arkansas to Mary Alice Moten Hill and Herman Pleas Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a graduate of Ozark High School and earned his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1972. He was currently serving on the Pilot Grove Cemetery Board. He is survived by three sisters: Sarah Halmes and Shirley Davis, both of Ozark, and Mary Sue Petty of Mabelvale, Arkansas; four brothers: James Hill of Lamar, Bill Hill of Clarksville, David Hill of Dardanelle, and Danny Hill of Illinois; and a host of beloved nieces , nephews and friends. The family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22nd at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kirby Vardeman officiating, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Burial will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Sam Hill, John Petty, II, Patrick Hill, Matthew Hill, Joshua Hill, Andrew Hill, Tyler Halmes and Levi Halmes.
