Shirley Ann Roberts

Shirley Ann Roberts, 79, of Bentonville died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. She was born May 7, 1935, at Bentonville to Jack Crabtree and Frances Strate Crabtree. She returned to Bentonville in 1999 from Colorado Springs, Colo., to make her home. She was a Protestant, a homemaker, an avid reader, enjoyed going to craft fairs, crotchet, worked with ceramics, and collected cow, butterfly and hummingbird figurines. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Roberts; one son, William Arlen Roberts Jr.; two brothers, Kenneth Crabtree and Charles Crabtree; two sons-in-law, Ronald R. Vogt and John Day; and her best friend, Euteva Dillow. Survivors are one son, Scot Morris Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Maggie Roberts Phillips and husband, the Rev. C.J. Phillips, of Rogers, Willa Annette Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Naomi Allen of Bella Vista, Ramona Crabtree and Norma Norton, both of Bentonville; one brother, Jackie Crabtree and wife, Freida, of Pea Ridge; a first cousin, James Cooper and wife, Laura, of Bentonville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. A memorial service is set for Saturday, May 17, 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge, with the Rev. C.J. Phillips officiating.
