Ted Ray Sisco

Ted Ray Sisco, 97, of Garfield, Ark., passed away May 8, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. He was born April 26, 1917, in Ponder, Mo., to Albert Willis Sisco and Artelia Permilia Ann Gibson Sisco. He was a member and had served as a deacon of the Garfield Church of Christ. He had worked as a farmer, mechanic, carpenter and gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Irene Sisco in 2011; a grandson, Brion Scott Cray in 2008; and four brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Ann Gowin and husband, Bob, of Jerseyville, Ill., Viola Cray and husband, Ray of Garfield, Ark.; five grandchildren, Alan Gowin and wife, Reba, Kelly Retzer and husband, Tom, Gayle Prough and husband, David, all of Jerseyville, Ill., Eric Gowin and wife, Joan, of Godfrey, Ill., Paula Smiley and husband, Robert, of Sammamish, Wash., and Brion Cray's widow, Sherry Cray of Garfield, Ark.; six great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Service is set for 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ruddick Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
