Sister Columba Moseley, age 95, died May 7, 2014. The family of Charles Hough and Mabel Maugaruite Freville Moseley welcomed their daughter, LaDelle Maugaruite, into their family Jan. 5, 1919, in Shreveport, La. She entered St. Gertrude's Convent in Covington, La. in 1934. She became a novice Jan. 5, 1935 and received the name of Sister Columba. In 1971 she transferred to St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith. For a number of years she taught high school and college math. She worked at the Clearinghouse for a number of years. Preceding her in death are her parents, one brother, Father Stan Moseley from St. Joseph Abbey in Covington La. She is survived by her religious family. Vespers for the dead will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel. The funeral Mass will be Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Monastery Chapel, with Rev. David McKillin as presider. Burial will be in the Monastery cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Scholastica Monastery, P.O. Box 3489, Fort Smith, Ark. 72913.
