William Preston Rosenaur

William Preston Rosenaur, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died April 29, at the age of eighty-six, after a brief illness. Born on August 23, 1927, to Theodore Joseph and Maymee Belle Rosenaur in Sublette, Kansas, he moved with his family to Mena, Arkansas, in 1932. He was a graduate of Mena High School and a veteran of the United States Navy, having been stationed on the USS Pitt and having served in the South Pacific theater of operations. Mr. Rosenaur held a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Master's Degree in Education from Southern State College, and was a Licensed Professional Counselor. He retired in 1989 from the Oil Belt Vocational and Technical School in El Dorado, Arkansas, where he had served as Assistant Director. After retiring, he moved to Hot Springs. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Phi Delta Gamma professional fraternity. Mr. Rosenaur was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Frances A. Atkinson Rosenaur and Jean Ross Rosenaur, a sister, Mary E. Lowrance, and a brother, Arden L. Banks Cullen. He is survived by one daughter, Sallie R. Barron and her husband Greg; one son, William Warren Rosenaur; two sisters, Sally Hamill and her husband Tom, and Patsy Muller and her husband Wayne; a stepdaughter Debbie Ross Noland and her husband Stewart; four grandchildren, Caitlin Barron Morgan, Sam Barron, Ross Noland, and Claire Noland Beggans, and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Friday May 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hot Springs, where his ashes will be interred in the columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 228 Spring St., Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. Arrangements made by Gross Funeral Home.
