George Rochier

George Rochier, 87, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born April 25, 1926, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Joseph H. Rochier and Amo B. (Evans) Rochier. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during World War II, and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Springdale. He worked as a cook in several venues including Mary Maestri's and the VA. He pastored an Assembly of God church in Timpson, Texas, and was a graduate of Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. He is survived by one son, Marvin Rochier of Blytheville, Ark.; one daughter, Debbie Walker of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, David Rochier of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday April 1 at First Assembly of God Church in Springdale, Ark., with Rev. Bob Fant officiating. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
