Lillian Cable, 80, of Bentonville died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville. She was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Olney, Okla., the daughter of Carrie Nickell and Homer Lisle. She was a teacher for many years and graduated from the University of Arkansas. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, especially spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was selected as Who's Who for three different times and Teacher of the Year once. She loved the farm, her church and the Lord. She was a member of the Assemblies of God and attended Rocky Comfort and New Hope Assemblies of God in Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Howard; and eight siblings. Lillian is survived by her husband of 23 years, Richard Cable; two sons, Jim Howard and his wife Ana, of Bentonville, Craig Cable and his wife, Kris, of Iowa; two daughters, Evelyn Brown and her husband, Jim, of Jay, Okla., Carrie Elayne Day of Highfill; and 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers, with Pastor James Longmate officiating. Interment will follow the service at Elm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Brown, Travis Day, Daniel Day, James Howard, Jon Brown and Jacob Howard.
