Larry Pahlman

Laurence (Larry) A. Pahlman, 62, passed away on March 27, 2014, at his home in Fayetteville, Ark. He had been a resident of NWA for six-and-a-half years. Larry was born in Evanston, Ill., on May 24, 1951, to Laurence and Elizabeth Crist Pahlman. He was a graduate of Purdue University, with a BS in industrial engineering. As an undergraduate student, Larry was a brother of Phi Delta Gamma Fraternity. Immediately after graduation, he joined Westinghouse Corporation and its successor, Eaton Corporation, with whom he completed 33 years of employment and retired in 2007. Larry was united in marriage to Virginia M. Saha on May 17, 1983, in Sanford, Fla. Larry and Virginia enjoyed 31 years of marriage. They traveled extensively, and were especially fond of cruises to various parts of the world. Larry was preceded in death by his father; mother; and brother, John C. Pahlman. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three sisters; two brothers; two stepsons; and a stepdaughter. His sisters are Mary Katherine McLeod and husband, David, of Thiensville, Wis., Mary Elizabeth Evans and husband, Ernest Peters, of Ames, Iowa, and Mary Ann Peel of Antioch, Ill. Brothers are Robert F. Peel of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Warren R. Peel of Chicago, Ill. Larry's two stepsons are Mark G. Spaulding and wife, Alexandra, of West Chester, Pa., and Scott G. Spaulding of Daytona Beach, Fla. His stepdaughter is Donna V. Williams and husband, Harvey, of Philadelphia, Pa. Also, and especially noteworthy, is his 5-year-old stepgrandson, Noah Spaulding of West Chester, Pa. Besides being with his family, he was most at ease tinkering with electronics, playing golf, traveling, watching sports, computer gaming, guitar playing, and a deep love of conservative politics and the country of his birth. This loving husband, stepfather and brother-in-law will always be remembered for his generous heart, gentle manner, and his deep love and affection for his family.
