Marcia Diane Griess, resident of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 23, 2014, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village after an extended illness. She was 79. Born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., to Harold A. Storckman and Grace G. (Kirkman) Storckman. Survived by loving husband, George Charles Griess; and children, Jennifer Brennan (Marty Colborne), Stephanie Griess, Julia Griess, Jill Griess; and grandson, George Edward Brennan; and brother, Steve Storckman (Sara Thompson Storckman); sister, Maria Miller (Daryl Miller); and many loving nephews and nieces. Predeceased by sister, Cynthia (Storckman) Berg. Memorial services will be held at the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, 504 Memorial Drive in Bella Vista, AR 72714, on Friday, March 28, 2014, from 1-3 p.m (www.beautifulbellavista.com/chapel.htm); and also at Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry St., Mt. Her lifelong love for animals both domestic and wild led her to being a docent at the Kansas City Zoo. Always memorable, Marcia charmed people the world over, from the flea markets of Europe to the doors of Walmart. She is renowned for sharing her passion of the culinary arts with friends and family. She was one of the original members of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Her vivacious enthusiasm was contagious and will never be forgotten.
