Walter Clayton Bowers

Walter Clayton Bowers, 82, of Springdale died Sunday, March 23, 2014. He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Beaumont, Texas, to Lloyd D. and Pearl Emma Walker Bowers. Walter served in the Army during the Korean War. He had many talents and skills, including trick roping. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and traveling. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elery Bowers. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Berryman) Bowers of Springdale; a daughter, Glenda Harp and husband, Rick, of Elm Springs; two sisters, Nelwyn Cook and Lois Kaspar, both of Beaumont, Texas; two granddaughters, Kristin Hawkins and Staci Snider; and three great-grandchildren, Jadelyn Snider, Kymber Hawkins and Tanner Snider. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Elm Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home.
