Joseph Marion Dearing, Jr. "Little Joe", 79, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Fayetteville. He was born July 20, 1934 in Fayetteville the son of Joseph Marion, Sr. and Marjorie Irene Keller Dearing. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years, member of the National Association of Letter Carriers #1034, a member of American Legion #27, and the Marine Corps League. Little Joe was a proud husband, father, grandfather, friend to all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Carol Dearing of the home; three sons, Michael Lemon Dearing and wife, Mary of Hogeye, Ark., Brian William Dearing and wife, Joann and Joseph Michael Dearing and wife, Kelli both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Sherry Courtney of Fayetteville; one brother, Joseph Romine of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Emmalou Mauldin of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren, Brian Dearing Jr., Joseph Dearing Jr., Elise Dearing, Austin Dearing, Sophie Dearing and Hannah Dearing; two loving cousins, Elizabeth Watson of Fayetteville and Jimmy Dearing of Elkins. Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Moores Chapel in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Cemetery Improvement Fund.
