Frankie Burns of Bella Vista died March 18, 2014, at 2:35 a.m. She was born in Albuquerque, N.M., to Frank Madison Sands and Ruth Smith Sands. Frankie retired from Bentonville Public Schools where she worked for 30 years in cafeteria food service and as a bus driver. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sands and Ruth Sands Rakes; one brother, Howard Sands; and one sister, Doris Coker. Frankie leaves behind her husband, Jim Burns, to whom she was married on March 20, 1961; her two sons, Jimmie Burns of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rockey Burns (Robbin Gorman) of Rogers. She is also survived by two sisters, Marie Chandler of Bentonville and Glenna (Craig) Warhurst of Broomfield, Colo.; one brother, Wesley (Shirley) Sands of Cave Springs; sister-in-law, Marlene Sands of Cave Springs; one granddaughter, Rhiana Burns of Rogers; one great-grandson, Cainenn Burns of Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. A family and friends visitation will be held at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel on Friday morning, March 21, 2014, at 10 a.m. The memorial service will be followed by a brief burial service at Cave Springs Cemetery on Johnson Avenue at noon on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frankie's memory to the following organizations: Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712; or to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591.
