Bret Adam Browder, 52, of Alabam, Ark., died March 10, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center of Springdale. He was born Nov. 20, 1961, at Dighton, Kan., the son of Norman and Karen Unruh Browder. He was a 1980 graduate of Kingman High School in Kingman, Kan., and a veteran of the Gulf War serving in the United States Navy. He had earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Pistol ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Letter of Commendation by R.Adm. Baird. Bret worked as a police officer for several years, both in the police department and for the county sheriff in Stafford County, Kan., and also as a correction officer at Hutchinson Correctiional Facility in Hutchinson, Kan. He was currently employed as an IT technician at Rockline Industries in Springdale. Bret had several certifications and degrees, including a degree from NTI in Springdale and also from Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kan. Survivors include his wife, Geri Sizemore Browder of the home; three stepchildren who he loved as his own, Blake, Brock and Jerisa Martin of the home; one brother, Barry Browder of Wichita, Kan.; one sister and brother-in-law, Tana (Dan) Barker of Andover, Kan.; two nephews, Andrew Barker of Temple, Texas, and Aaron Browder of Wichita, Kan.; one niece, Kristen Barker of Andover, Kan.; three brothers-in-law, Neal (Ela) Sizemore of Japton, Ark., Larry (Julie) Sizemore of Wesley, Ark., and Mike (Renee) Sizemore of Hindsville, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, LaDonna (Mike) Keck and Keith (Adala) Watkins, all of Japton, Ark.; mother-in-law, Mary Sizemore of Wesley, Ark.; stepnephews, Dusty, Dylan and Devin Sizemore, Justin and Cole Sizemore, Dakota Sizemore and Caden Watkins, all of Arkansas, and Jared Quigley of Kansas; nieces, Alyssa Sizemore, Kylie and Sierra Watkins, all of Arkansas, and Katrina Taylor of Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with Larry Combs, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be brothers-in-law, Neal Sizemore, Larry Sizemore, Mike Sizemore, and friends and co-workers, Scott McGlothin and Heath Bowerman, and nephew, Andrew Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Simmons, Brian Sanders, Sam Simmons, John Sullivan, Keith Watkins, Mike Keck and Steve McAra. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Brashears.
