Alice 'Joyce' Stophlet

Alice "Joyce" Stophlet died Monday, March 3, 2014, at home in Rogers, Ark. She was born in Lowell, Ark., to Garland and Rhea Kendrick. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bob Stophlet. Other survivors: daughter, Jeanne Hickman of Rogers; son, Mike Stophlet and wife, Cindy, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jason Hickman of Rogers, John (Ashley) Hickman of Fayetteville, Rachel (Ben) Steele of Tampa, Fla., Drew Stophlet of Logan, Utah, Grant Stophlet of Bismark, N.D., and Catherine Stophlet of Helena, Mont.; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Mike Kendrick, Springdale, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A special thank you goes to caregivers, Jo Staats and Debbie Spears. Joyce retired from Walmart general offices after 22 years of employment. Her hobbies included spending time with family, traveling, reading, walking, sewing and music. She was one of the original members of Southside Church of Christ. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home. Services will be at Rollins Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m., with burial at Rogers Cemetery.
