Jeanette Freshwater, age 75, of Elm Springs, Ark., went to meet the Lord on Feb. 27, 2014, at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice House. Jeanette Reese Freshwater was born on Dec. 20, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, to Gerold Vernor Reese and Marie Ruhl Reese. She graduated from North Miami Florida High School in 1956. She married her husband, Paul David Freshwater, in 1958; together they have two children, Laura Lee Holman of Davis, Okla., and David Eric Freshwater of Springdale. The family moved from Delaware, Ohio, to Meridian, Miss., to Memphis, Tenn., to Grenada, Miss., before moving to Springdale, Ark., in 1974. Throughout her life, Jeannette worked in various positions as a receptionist. In Northwest Arkansas, she worked for Sisco Funeral Chapel from 1974 until 1984, and worked as a secretary for Springdale High School from 1984 until retiring in 2000. She and her husband own and operate Freshwater's Ford, an antique car business. She states that the greatest highlights of her life were her marriage to her husband and raising her two children. She enjoyed reading and singing and she was active in choir. She and her husband were longtime members of Wesley United Methodist Church and are current members of Elm Springs United Methodist Church. She expressed deep gratitude for the wonderful support from her church family throughout the years. She is survived by her husband, two children, five grandchildren and one great-grandson, with one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Ron Reese of Lewis Center, Ohio, Martha Radcliffe of Delaware, Ohio, Jim Reese of Hilliard, Ohio, and Bill Reese of St. Petersburg, Fla. Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2014, from 11 a.m. until noon at Elm Springs United Methodist Church. Services will be noon at Elm Springs United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dixon Platt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to the Elm Springs United Methodist Church.
