Helen Brandberg Wray

Helen Brandberg Wray, 92, of Joplin peacefully passed away the morning of Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Mercy Hospital. Born June 12, 1922, in Interior, S.D., Helen was the daughter of Guy and Ada Tyree. Helen met George Brandberg in Minneapolis, Minn., and they were married Nov. 22, 1941. Following George's death, Helen married Hestle Wray on Aug. 10, 1994. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Burniece, Barbara (Dennis) Beckman, Nancy Hane and Lori (Robert) Rasmussen; as well as by her sister, Shirley Bakke; grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Carol's children, Bruce (Ann) Burniece (and Bruce's children, Alexandra and Joshua), Debbie (Dan) Mickelson (and their children, Tracie (Josh) Peterson (and their daughter, Olivia), Tyler and Holly), Bill (Kate) Burniece (and their daughter, Erin), and Kari (Dave) Brown; Barbara (and Dennis') children, Gary (Dee) Beckman (and their son, Sean) and David (Kristen) Beckman; Nancy's children, Rob and Emily; Lori (and Robert's) children, Benjamin, Samuel and Sarah. A service celebrating Helen's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, preceded by a visitation at 10 a.m. Memorial gifts graciously accepted by Helen's immediate family to be distributed to a cause of the family's choosing in Helen's name.
