Cecil Dwayne Thurman

Cecil Dwayne Thurman, 86-year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Ark., died at his home on June 11, 2014. Born July 28, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ark., he was the son of Floyd Thurman and Beulah Pearson Thurman. Cecil was a lifelong resident of the area. He worked as a farmer and a truck driver. He was preceded in death by Deloris Jean Thurman; his parents; three brothers, Chester Thurman, Shorty Thurman and Charlie Thurman; and one sister, Wilma Thurman. He leaves behind three daughters, Anita Sanders-Deaton of Siloam Springs, Sue Hurt and husband, Doyle, of Colcord, Okla., and Sharla Harp of Kansas, Okla.; four grandchildren, Michael Shrum, Stasha Williams, Melissa Janz and Tracie Harris; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Janz, Shelby Janz and Dalton Janz; one sister, Susie Bunnell and husband, Max, of Claremore, Okla.; a lifelong friend, Jimmy Brown of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Tim Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla.
