Gary Lee Hatfield, 59, of Alabam, Ark., died July 28, 2014, at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1955, at Huntsville, Ark., the son of Thomas Bruce and Alba Verlin Goucher Hatfield. He was a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ, and enjoyed tractor pulling, being on the Huntsville School Board, being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Huntsville and serving with the Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce. He lived at and loved Walmart for 34 years. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Kathleen Dillard Hatfield of the home; one son, Clinton Lee Hatfield of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shannon Lynn and Darren Roberts of Huntsville, Ark., and Brittany Liegh Hatfield of the home; one brother, Dwain Hatfield of Huntsville, Ark.; four sisters, Mary Kay Stroub of Cecil, Ark., Roberta Walker of Bryant, Ark., Anna Slaughter and Cheryl Cate, both of Alabam, Ark.; one grandson, Cameron Edmisten of Huntsville, Ark.; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with Larry Combs, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Alabam Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be Jerry McChristian, Weston McChristian, Jerry Whittmore, Justin Whittmore, Gary Chaudoin, Duane Glenn, Terry Fuller and Kenny Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Hatfield, Cameron Edmisten, Darren Roberts, John Dillard, Jack Dillard, Robert Dillard, Marvin Jones, David Ingall, Joe Stroub, Warren Walker, John Slaughter, Jerry Steelman, Tom Edmisten and Wendell Shipp. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
