Samuel Lee Seyler

Samuel Lee "Sam" Seyler, 80, of Rogers, Ark., passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Nov. 17, 1933, in LeLoup, Kan., to Samuel Arthur Seyler and Abbie Marie Gilroy Seyler. He proudly served in United States Naval Intelligence at Pearl Harbor. He was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Rogers for many years. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fran in 2013; and one sister, Joan Runnells. He is survived by one son, Doug Seyler and wife, Lisa, of Decatur, Ark; one daughter, Cynthia Seyler and husband, Philip Krout, of Havana, Fla.; stepson, James Frazier and wife, Jasmine, of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Evelyn Seyler Mathews, Jane Seyler, Rita Seyler Everson, Debra Seyler Schukow; brothers, Lucky Seyler, Jim Seyler, Dale Seyler; six granddaughters; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson. A memorial celebration will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at First Christian Church, 905 S. 13th St., in Rogers, with the Rev. Shawn Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville, Kan., at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
