Betty Ann (Collyar) Bolton, 73, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away July 11, 2014, in her Bella Vista home. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater, Okla. A memorial service honoring Betty's life will be held on July 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home Chapel, 610 S. Duncan St., Stillwater, OK 74076. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee. Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Please come dressed casual and join the family back in Stillwater at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Hideaway Pizza, 230 S. Knoblock. Betty was born to the late J.B. and Gertie Mae (Wise) Collyar on Jan. 10, 1941, in Stillwater, Okla. She was a graduate of Stillwater High School class of 1959 and married Chris Bolton in December of 1958. Upon her husband Chris' graduation from Oklahoma State University in 1964, they relocated to Wichita, Kan., where Chris was employed at the Law Company Inc., and where Betty attended Wichita State University, completed real estate school and acquired her real estate broker's license in the late '60s. She was then employed by Matt Eck Real Estate Inc. until the late 1980s. Betty enjoyed reading, bowling and traveling (especially to Las Vegas). She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was known for out-fishing the guys at the Law Company Inc. annual picnics. She cherished the time she spent golfing with the Traveling T's from Rolling Hills Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne L. Bolton; sister, Norma Smith; and three brothers, Leo, Ronald and Bryan Collyar. Survivors include her husband, Chris Bolton of the home; daughter, Doni (Fred) Helser, grandchildren, Shelby and Connor Helser, all of Bella Vista, Ark.; sister, Shirley (Bob) Callahan of St. Albans, Mo.; sisters-in-law, JoAnn, Darlene and Joyce Collyar, Pat Bolton (Don) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for a new Stillwater High School Scholarship program in the name of Betty Collyar Bolton.
