Donald Wayne Wilson

Donald Wayne Wilson, age 75, of Springdale went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2014, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born June 5, 1939, in Devine, Texas, the son of Claude and Clara Johnson Wilson. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1966. He was a member of the American Legion and served as secretary for many years. He enjoyed fishing, loved horses and was a volunteer helper at Lee Elementary School where he loved all of the children. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Ingrid Hassler Wilson of the home; his mother, Clara Wilson of Alvin, Texas; two sons, Buddy Wayne Wilson and his wife, Margaret, of Rosharon, Texas, and Larry Don Wilson and his wife, Debby, of Lowell, Ark.; two daughters, Susan Jordan and her husband, Ted, of Lowell, Ark., and Michelle Thomasson of Springdale; two brothers, Robert Wilson of Johnson and Fred Wilson of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Glenda McBay of Alvin, Texas, and Pauline Dority of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; he is also survived by Cabrin Edgar of the home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark.
