Gary Gerald Mohr

Gary Gerald Mohr, age 67, of Jane, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at the Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Mo. Mr. Mohr, son of Asa and Alma (Ferguson) Mohr was born on Oct. 18, 1946, in LaJunta, Colo. He grew up in the Eagle Rock area and graduated from Cassville High School in 1964. Mr. Mohr joined the United States Navy serving from 1967 to 1970, serving in the Vietnam Campaign. He was a parachute rigger on the USS Yorktown. Mr. Mohr was later on the USS Kearsarge and was awarded Sailor of the Month by the Air Anti-Submarine Squadron Twenty-Nine. After his career in the Navy, Mr. Mohr worked as a carpenter, and in the concrete business in Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. Mr. Mohr was best-known for his handlebar mustache and his love for the outdoors; he was an avid hunter. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his only daughter, Shannon Booher and her husband, Dean, of Bella Vista, Ark.; four grandchildren, Connor Southern, Brooke Booher, Taryn Booher and Kierstin Booher; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Wolf and her husband, Larry, of Bakersfield, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews, including Karry Lewis, who was a special joy to Mr. Mohr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pat Nave. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pineville, Mo., with Pastor Robert Matney officiating. Interment will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark., on a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Mo.
