Hester Griggs

Hester Griggs, age 89, of Malvern passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Arbor Oaks Health and Rehab. She was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Lono, the daughter of George and Dora Nutt Ross. Hester was a nurse at Dr. Larry Brashears office for many years and also worked at HSC Medical Center. She loved people, caregiving and visiting. She was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Griggs; special friend, Truman Nix, and son-in-law, Buddy Davis. Survivors: son, Ralph Griggs (Carolyn) of Springdale, Ark.; daughter, Pat Davis of Malvern; brother, Johnny Ross of Malvern; sister, Hettie Griggs of Malvern; grandchildren, Mischelle Priebe (Bobby) of Little Rock, Ben Griggs (Sarah) of Fayetteville and Sam Griggs of Bentonville; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Priebe and Jack David Griggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 18 from 10-11 a.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Eli Maynard officiating. Burial will be at Lono Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Larry Brashears and staff and the staff at Arbor Oaks Health and Rehab. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
