Arthur Truman Nix, 86, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Innisfree Nursing and Rehab. He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Little Elm, Texas, to Robert Adrian Nix and Susan Melissa Wade Nix. He proudly served in the United States Marines at Camp LeJeune, N.C., and in the USMC Reserves. Arthur was a devout Christian and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a Woodmen of the World Camp 3119 member and a member of Central United Methodist Church, Rogers, Ark. Arthur moved to the Beaver Lake area in Rogers, Ark., after retirement in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Adrian Nix Jr., George Ralph Nix; and one sister, Mildred Melissa Hedgecock. Arthur is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edna Marie Sullivan Nix; one daughter, Beverly Ann Morgan and husband, John Whitney Morgan III, of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Brent Morgan of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer Ashford and husband, Jacob, John Whitney Morgan IV and Lindsey Morgan, and two great-grandchildren, Jax Ashford and Avery Ogden-Morgan, all of Fayetteville, Ark.; sister-in-law, Nell Nix of Katy, Texas; special nieces and nephews, Georgia McManness of Humble, Texas, Betty Kistler, Brenda Williams and Lynn Williams, all of Tomball, Texas, Russell Nix of Clear Lake, Texas, Kenneth Nix of Houston, Texas, Melissa Susanne Nix of Katy, Texas, Ronnie Hedgecock of Pretty Prairie, Kan., Larry Hedgcock of Conroe, Texas, Jimmy Sullivan of Spring, Texas, and Denny Sullivan of Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers, with the Rev. Carness Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Memorials may be made in honor of Arthur to Coach Frank Broyles Caregiving Foundation, dba CareGivers United, 1722 N. College Ave., Suite C-301, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
