Frances Louise Repass, 87, a resident of Farmington, passed away Jan. 10, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 9, 1926, at Mansfield, Ark., the daughter of Duke and Mattie Belle Tarpley Christian. Friends and family knew her as Frances or Fran, but she affectionately became "Granny" to her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Tragedies faced as a young mother shaped Fran, contributing to the strength and determination that drove her work ethic throughout her life. Her love for and commitment to her only child, Bob, guided her in the pursuit of a life that would afford them opportunity and stability during his childhood. Fran maintained a fervent connection to her family, frequently hosting them for holiday meals that would often culminate with card games that lasted late into the evening hours. She always enjoyed a bit of friendly competition, even if simply to challenge herself to complete a daily newspaper puzzle. Fran exuded a wit and charm that put people at ease and welcomed them into her company, a quality that helped make new guests immediately feel like family members. After fighting a lengthy battle with cancer and Alzheimer's Disease, Fran has entered a place of peace and comfort through her faith in Christ. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father; her first husband Carter Crouch; four brothers and one sister; two step sons, F. Wayne Parsons, and Troy Dale Repass. She is survived by her husband, Troy Repass; her son, Robert Crouch Sr. and his wife Deborah Crouch; her grandchildren Robert Crouch, Jr. and his wife Michele Crouch; Christopher Crouch; and Amy Woole and her husband Ricky Woole; as well as five great-grandchildren; one stepson, J. Phillip Repass, one stepdaughter, Kathryn Colasacco and husband Gene. The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel.
