Voleta Robison Hannah of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at age 87. Voleta was born to Dan and Edna Drummond on July 7, 1926, in Bidville, Ark. She was preceded in death by Bert Robison, her first husband; her parents; infant sister, Lois; three other sisters, Betty Moore, Florence Furr and Ellen Pense; and one brother, Leroy Drummond. She is survived by her husband, Lee Hannah of Fort Smith; three sisters, Irene Simms, Ernestine Boen and Raye Anglin. She is also survived by her children and their families, Trena and Pete Billington of Springdale, Ark., Pam and Randy Allen of Oklahoma City, Okla., Tim and Darlene Robison of Springfield, Mo., and Neva and Joe Adcock of Mountainburg, Ark. There are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Voleta lived most of her life in the community where she was born and raised. Her life with Bert and her children centered around the hard work of chicken farming, gardening and putting aside canned food for the winter. She loved giving everyone a tour of the "canned stuff" and often shared what she had put up. She always found time for extended family, community and the life of the Bidville Community Church. Many people kept up with the news of her life and others at Bidville through her weekly articles in the "Winslow Record." For the past 10-plus years she has made her home with Lee in Fort Smith. They both have many friends from their faithful service to the church community of God's House of Prayer in Fort Smith. Voleta was great at making anything grow and surrounded her home — in and out — with beautiful plants and flowers. She loved to study the Bible and was always well prepared to teach her Sunday school class. Greatly loved and respected by family and community as someone who really lived out the teaching of Christ in her everyday life, Voleta gave love and acceptance to all and leaves a great example for all of us to follow. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial will be at the Bidville Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at 10 a.m. under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The services will be officiated by her daughter-in-law, Darlene Robison, her long-time pastor while living at Bidville, Eugene Provence, and her pastor at God's House of Prayer in Fort Smith, Odell Curtis. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Andy, Jenny, Daniel, Leslie and Jessie. Honorary pallbearers will be her 12 great-grandchildren, Taytum, Sydney, Pride, Paige, Cale, Katie, Nathan, Carson, Natalie, Colton, Eden and Brielle.
