Georgia Mae Rock, 88, of Lowell, Ark., passed peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. She was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Cave Springs, Ark., to Alvin and Letitia Vanscoy. She had a love for her family and the Lord. She enjoyed playing card games and dominos with friends and family, reading and solving word puzzles. Georgia graduated from Cave Springs High School in 1944. She attended and graduated from business school in Tulsa directly after high school. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Ness; brother, Alvin Vanscoy; sister, Nadene Townzen; daughter, Suzanne Thissell; and grandson, Justin Elkinton. Georgia is survived by her husband of 15 years, John Rock of the home; sister, Anna Marie Walden of Vinita, Okla.; two brothers, Ray Vanscoy and his wife, Doris, of Tulsa, Okla., and Dennis Vanscoy and his wife, Wanda, of Wagoner, Okla.; sister, Janice Breshears and her husband, Don, of Centerville, Ark.; one son, John Ness of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla., with Pastor Darrin McKnight of Southwood Baptist Church officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Georgia's nephews, Brian Breshears, Alvin Breshears, Matthew Vanscoy, Doug Vanscoy, Jeff Vanscoy, David Vanscoy, Steve Vanscoy, Galen Walden, Eric Walden, Stanley Townzen, Carol Townzen and John Vanscoy.
