Naomi 'Ruth' Foy

Naomi "Ruth" Foy was born in McAlester, Okla., on Feb. 27, 1942. She entered Heaven's gates on Feb. 19, 2014, after a short illness, while surrounded by family and friends singing "Amazing Grace" around her bed. A consummate and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth was an excellent seamstress and craft-maker and enjoyed making hats, shawls, hair-bows and bands for her family, friends and church family. She also enjoyed collecting America's Bicentennial memorabilia. Ruth had an unwavering faith in God and was a loyal member of Calvary Tabernacle Church in Bentonville, Ark. Over the many years she attended, she made visitors feel welcomed and loved. Through the years, she opened her home to over 20 foster children. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Howard P. Foy. She is also survived by her children, Howard Delwayne Foy and wife, Cecilia, Nathan Foy and wife, Lettie, Vickie Boyd and husband, Kevin, and Lisa Foy Roscher. Siblings are Letha Townsley Davis and husband, Leland, Etta Evans, Drusilla Green and husband, Raymond, and Wayne Lutz and wife, Fern. She has seven grandchildren, Jessica, Marisa, Jeffery, Heather, Patrick, Courtney, Kayla; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Bentonville. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Calvary Tabernacle with the Rev. John Dean officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist granddaughter Courtney Boyd's mission trip to Africa, in care of Calvary Tabernacle, PO Box 93, Bentonville, AR 72712.
