Larry Dewayne Johnson, 54, of Goshen passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice. He was born April 23, 1959, in Springdale, Ark., to Wendell Lynn Johnson and Ruby Arvilla Gayer Johnson. Larry worked for the Washington County Sheriff's Department since July 12, 2004, until his passing. Larry also served as a volunteer firefighter/ first responder for the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his mother; and his son, Larry Dwayne Johnson Jr. Survivors include his father, Wendell Johnson; son, Jason Johnson; two sisters, Dianna Nash and husband, Coleman, and Angela Harrison and husband, Andy; brother, Gary Johnson, all of Fayetteville; soul-mate, Madeleine Blakemore, of the home; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Stan Morris and Chaplain Earl Adams officiating. Burial will be at the Wesley Cemetery.
