Hazel M. Tibbs Phelan

Hazel M. Tibbs Phelan, daughter of Roy and Inez Stufflebean of Madison County, Ark. She was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Southard, Okla., died Feb. 18, 2014, at the age of 90 years, 1 month, 29 days. Hazel owned and operated Hazel's Café in Greenland, Ark., in the late '50s and '60s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Phelan; a son, Danny L. Tibbs; five sisters; and a brother. She survived by two sons, Milburn H. Tibbs and wife, Doris Tibbs, of Fort Smith, and Noah Larry Tibbs and wife, Janan Tibbs, of West Fork; two sisters, Patsy Love and Helen Hollingsworth, both of Springdale; eight grandchildren, Marla and Shawn Hicks, Sandra and Randy Taylor, Cheryl and Mark Gray, Deanna and Chris Thompson, Michael and Stephanie Tibbs, Steven Tibbs, Kyna and Mark Griffin and Brian Tibbs; and 14 great-grandchildren, Natosha Hicks, Megan Hicks, Racheal Taylor, Hayley Krone, Cameron Krone, Christina Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Joshua Tibbs, Alyssa Tibbs, Sean Tibbs, Cody Tibbs, Marcus Griffin, Bradly Griffin and Casey Tibbs. Pallbearers will be Shawn Hicks, Randy Taylor, Mark Gray, Chris Thompson, Michael Tibbs, Steven Tibbs, Brian Tibbs, Mark Griffin. Visitation will be held 6–8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moore's Chapel and burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
