Dorothy Mae Smith

Dorothy Mae Smith, 84, of Lowell passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Belle, Mo., to John and Margie Goans Cobb. Dorothy retired Glad Company after 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Charles Lee Smith; one son, Don Shackelford; two brothers, Chick Cobb and Bill Cobb; three sisters, Ora Martin, Myrtle Robertson and Chris Carter. Survivors include three sons, Lonnie Shackelford and wife, Carol, of Fayetteville, Tim Shackelford and wife, Kathy, and Gary Shackelford and wife, Deanna, all of Springdale; two daughters, Donna Wilson and husband, Leon, of Watts, Okla., and Jeannette Heithold and husband, Curtis, of Springdale; daughter-in-law, Lynette Shackelford of Springdale; brother, Gene Cobb of Springdale; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery.
