Louisiana Katie Henderson

Louisiana Katie Henderson, 91, of Springdale passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Springdale. She was born March 15, 1923, in Compton, Ark., to Jasper and Melvina Allred Clark. She worked in the poultry industry. She persevered in hard times because of her faith. The trials and tragedies of life never stopped her from loving her family. She worked hard; when the rivers rose, she survived, when the fires burned, she endured because she was a child of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Henderson; one son, Charles Henderson; one daughter, Janet Shepherd; three sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include one son, Jarrett Henderson of Springdale; four sisters, Georgia Hayes of Salinas, Calif., Polly Krantz of Coquille, Ore., Opal Shipman of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Artie Clark of Ruston, La.; one grandchild, Kevin Shepherd and wife, Stacy, of Elm Springs. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Mountain Springs Church, with Justin Villines and Stacey Villines officiating. Burial will follow in Plumlee Cemetery.
