Darrel Wayne Abshier

Darrel Wayne Abshier, 79-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died Dec. 30, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice Home, Springdale, Ark. Born Feb. 8, 1935, in Morrow, Ark., he was the son of Roscoe Abshier and Irene Loftin Abshier. Darrel married Dorothy McWilliams on Aug. 26, 1960, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Darrel was a self-employed building contractor for 20 years before becoming a dairy farmer for 20 years. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Wanda Ball; and one brother, Merle Dean Abshier. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Abshier of the home; three daughters, Gayla Carlson and husband, Linn, Janna Snodgrass and husband, Jim, and Treva Watkins and husband, Greg, all of Siloam Springs; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Abshier of Rogers, Ark.; and one sister, Phyllis Rock and husband, Jim, of Stilwell, Okla.
