George William Pohlen

George William Pohlen, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice Legacy in Bentonville, Ark. The son of Peter E. and Doris A. Pohlen, he was born on April 13, 1938, in Sheldon, Iowa. He lived his youth in Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School. He was united in marriage to Karroll Kae Petersen of Sibley, Iowa, on Sept. 7, 1957. George worked in the telecommunications industry all of their married life. He and his wife retired to Bella Vista, Ark., having lived there for 24 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by his wife, Karroll; three children, Patrick (Laura) of Atherton, Calif., Gregory of St. Charles, Mo., Nancy Streck (Timothy) of Dublin, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Pohlen of Hutchinson, Minn. A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., with a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
