Veda Belle Nowlin

Veda Belle Nowlin, 94-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died Dec. 22, 2014, at her home. She was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Davidson, Okla., to William F. Slagle and Jammie Lou Watts Slagle. Veda Belle married W.B. Nowlin in Tulsa, Okla. She worked as a high school math teacher at Colcord High School for many years. Veda Belle was a Worthy Grand Matron of the Oklahoma Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Don Slagle. She is survived by one son, Bill Nowlin and wife Dawn of Colcord; two granddaughters, Nicole Nowlin and Katherine Nowlin of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three brothers, Bain Slagle and wife Cam of Pflugerville, Texas, Gene Slagle and wife Ann of Shreveport, La., and William Slagle and wife Barbara of Edmond, Okla. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery, Colcord.
