Joella Kumpe

Joella Kumpe, 84, of Bentonville died Dec. 19, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice Home Legacy Village. She was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Bentonville to the late Lester Thomas Moody and Amana Valencia Moody. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1949. She was a proud '49er. She married her high school sweetheart, John O. Kumpe Jr. on Feb. 3, 1951. They were married for 55 years. She worked at the Springdale Clinic for 20 years as a receptionist and bookkeeper. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Bentonville where she was an office angel and Dorcus member. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends from church. She loved most being surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Kumpe Jr. and her two brothers, Dan L. Moody and James "Jim" Moody. Survivors include her three daughters, Jacque Lindsey and husband Harold of Springdale, Clair Travis and husband Steve of Bella Vista, Sandy Pruitt and husband Randy of Bella Vista; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville with Rev. Dr. Kurt Boggan and Rev. David Ruehr officiating. Burial to follow at the Bentonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Lindsey, Steve Travis, Randy Pruitt, Bryce Travis, Andy Pruitt, Mitch Pruitt and honorary pallbearer Dillan Grigg.
