Shirley J. (Lee) Anthony, 74 years old, passed away Dec. 17, 2014, after her valiant fight with ovarian cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through months of grueling chemotherapy. Throughout her own struggles with cancer, she reached out to others affected by cancer by crocheting and donating hats and blankets, and comforting others sitting nearby with her contagious smile, her faith in the Lord and entertaining sense of humor. She worked as a bookkeeper for Tim Starner's Tax Service until her retirement in 2011. Shirley enjoyed writing and was a correspondent for the Pea Ridge Times. Shirley was born Dec. 24,1939, in Booneville Ind., to parents Leonard and Frances (Sharp) Lee. She is survived by a son, D'wayne and Cindy Anthony of Pea Ridge; daughter, Sheryl and Shawn Brannum of Pea Ridge; grandchildren, Eric (Moriah) Anthony, Jase (Kati) Sharp, Jessica (Dakota) McCullum, Jennifer Anthony, Amber McNair; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Braylee and Kelsey; brother, Oral "Bud" (Shirley) Lee of Oakland, Calif.; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Lee and Betty Lee of Boonville Ind. She was preceded in death by sister, Joyce (Lee) Smith, brothers, Leonard "Nip" Lee and Larry Lee, all of Boonville, Ind. Visitation will be at The Ridge Community Church in Pea Ridge on Friday, Dec. 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at The Ridge Community Church in Pea Ridge on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. There will be no graveside service. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
