Elizabeth (Libby) Wallis

Elizabeth (Libby) Wallis, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Tampa, Fla., to Robert Lee and Ada Belle Hodges. She was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Nell Hines and Dorothy Lee Dahler. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1943, and married James Robert Wallis on June 10, 1944, in Washington, D.C. She was active in the Methodist Church all her life. Libby and Jim lived most of their lives in Oklahoma and Arkansas and raised their three children there. She owned The Nearly New Shoppe with her sister in Oklahoma City and later the Clothes Closet in Little Rock. Libby suffered from Alzheimer's and bravely fought this disease for over 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Jim Wallis of Springdale; a son, Jim Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Sonoma, Calif.; daughters, Mary Jane Pruniski and husband, Jack, of Little Rock, and Luann Horn and husband, Mike, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Brian Pruniski and wife, Julie, Carrie Taylor and husband, Jeff, Jeff Pruniski, Tom Wallis, and Heath and Tanner Horn; great-grandchildren, Noah and Reid Pruniski, and Ellie Taylor. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, with Bill Seeger officiating. Interment will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
