Beulah Rose McKown, age 89, longtime Springdale resident, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Rose was born June 15, 1925, in Winslow, Ark., to Andrew and Beulah (Landelius) Smith. She grew up in Winslow and was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. Rose spent most of her life in Springdale and had only recently moved to Mustang, Okla., to be near her family. She was a loving mother and homemaker who was well known for her handiwork and culinary arts talent, and she loved to play Rook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmo; and one brother, Calvin. Survivors include one son, Dennis Elmo McKown and wife, Regina, of Kenosha, Wis.; one daughter, Vicki Rose Warterfield and husband, Robert, of Tulsa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held from 2:30-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Willie James Event Center, Tontitown, Ark. Online condolences may be made at www.mcneilsmustangfs.com.
